End of an Era at Libertad

By Andy Sargent - Sunday, November 10, 2019 - 12:28:43 PM

Fans throughout the footballing world have been left flabbergasted by recent news at Club Libertad.
The club's long-serving talisman, Portuguese striker Ruben Gaspar has been sold to Premier League rivals Bologna. Riots are said to have broken out in some areas, although police have stated that the situation is under control.
Asked for comment, the manager synonymous with Club Libertad, Andy Sargent kept his cards close to his chest.
'All good things come to an end', said Andy philosophically, 'this means one of the younger guys is going to have to step up. Gaspar was never going to play forever'.
Asked who was going to replace Gaspar, Andy had no comment. It seems Libertad may be taking a youth approach - widely lauded by the press, but dangerous in the Premier League - as the most experienced of onlookers know.
Gaspar scored over 600 goals for Libertad in a career which saw the club rise from obscurity to the Premier League. A large part of the club's success down to his goals, although perhaps Sargent deserves some credit for his managing of a usually tight budget at an unfashionable side.
