Your Team

As a manager in In The Net you can take charge of one of hundreds of famous world football clubs or international sides, and attempt to improve the squad (e.g. through transfers and training) with the aim of finding the best team and tactics to beat all opponents and win competitions.
In order to pick the best players for the match you need to look at your squad. You have both a first team and a reserve/under-21 side, both of which can play matches, thus allowing you to give your young players experience and see how they perform. Each player is rated between None-Legendary in 10 areas. Being good at Keeping and Athleticism, for example, is good for a Goalkeeper. As well as ratings like these you also have access to player data such as nationality, height, morale, contract details and a huge amount of match/career/club statistics. Once you've decided who to play its time to select them...

Tactics and formation

There are various tactical and strategic decisions you need to make, including selection of the team formation and general offensive and defensive tactics to use against your next opponent. You also need to pick a captain and the different set piece takers as well as having the option to select conditions for substitutions. I hope you are happy with your selections, it won't be long until the big match...

Competition structure

The league is in a pyramid format with each division being fed from two below. There are 16 teams per division with up to seven promotions or relegations per division per season. There are also cup competitions, one for all teams and then one for each level. Plus the International setup which has Qualifiers and World Cup. A whole season lasts more than four months with teams playing up to 3 times a week. And there's plenty more for a manager to think about...

Extensive match reviews

There are three matchdays a week. Extensive match reviews are available for every match played. Shown below is a match overview but there is also match statistics for every player as well as a timeline of all key match events. Each player is given a rating out of 10 for their performance in the match with the best player voted man of the match. Thankfully this was only a friendly match, the team will need to perform better in the league...

Total club management

Club management can be fairly demanding. Your own squad of players need taking care of, like organising their training and renewing contracts. And players can also be transferred in and out, using the transfer list or negotiating with other managers. To make transfers you need money, and looking after the finances of the club is very important, including making long-term decisions on youth investment and stadium development...You can keep track of all goings on within the team using the private messaging system. Your assistant or staff members will contact you using this to discuss team matters, while other managers in the game can send messages to you too.

24 hour news

The In The Net world never stops, and you can keep up-to-date with major events via the news system. You can also keep up with all standings and results in competitions. Those features shown previously are just part of what is a continually improving and developing, free to play, football management simulation! There's a great community atmosphere, and a helpful forum where you can meet and receive precious info from experienced managers, and we'd really like you to be part of it. New managers will also be assigned a tutor, chosen from selected experienced managers who will guide them for the first weeks in the game!
