Wilkinson renews as Avalos leaves Busan

By Stephen Wilkinson - Tuesday, May 19, 2020 - 8:56:04 PM

Busan I Park manager Steve Wilkinson renewed his contract today with the South Korean side following the clubs successful season in C6 Division.

Busan celebrated their divisional success and lifted the trophy as the club return to the B divisions - with the same manager who previously took them to this point before.

Wilkinson today signed a new one year deal announcing that survival is the main aim for the upcoming season.

"We've had a solid year and built the foundations for a squad that has continued to improve. We're under no illusions that this year will be a battle, and staying up has to be our first priority."

Meanwhile, Busan today announced the departure of long time goalkeeper Sathiyadev Avalos, who joins Sheffield Wednesday on a deal rumoured to be in the region of £5m.

The long time servant, who managed 333 club appearances since his emergence from the youth team, found game time hampered by injuries and the arrival of Antonio Morales, who is now expected to fill the vacant spot on a permanent basis.
