Are Namatevs' Exit Talks Simply Rumours?

By Jafafa Azaz - Tuesday, April 14, 2020 - 6:08:10 PM

Strasbourg fans today have been shocked by rumours that Azaz will apparently consider selling world class striker Talivaldis Namatevs should the French side get relegated from the premier league this season.

Media sources report that Azaz has today spoken to several prem & A level sides about the possibility of the striker becoming available...a player that Azaz recently said he 'wouldn't sell for even £250m'. In the past, Azaz has repeatedly claimed that he considers Namatevs to be 'one of the top 5 strikers in the game for his age and consistent goal scoring statistics at the highest level' and fans don't disagree.

One fan we spoke to earlier had this to say: "Azaz has got to be mad to even consider selling our star player. Perhaps it's a side effect of COVID-19! And a worrying one! We don't need to sell and why should we?! Even if we go down, Namatevs' is the type of player that can singlehandedly fire us to an A title and instant return to the prem, no question. He's 27 now and would be 29, arguably at his peak, for when we return. And I'm saying all this, we haven't even gone down yet, he could help us stay up! If these are more than just rumours, there will be a fan protest that's for sure! They say no player is bigger than the club or no player should be bigger than the manager but if any player is bigger than the manager, it's Namatevs. I'd get rid of Azaz before I'd get rid of him!".

Azaz declined to comment at this time.
